Re: How to use transport toolbar (advance/return) ?

gayle, A dynamical selection adaption would be great, I've always missed this feature. It should be a kind of intelligent too in order to function efficiently. For instance, a short part (0.1 s) of the selection start or end would be played twice or trice when the boundary is move in either directio...

Re: How to use transport toolbar (advance/return) ?

Which is a long way of saying Audacity doesn't scrub. You can't just grab the playhead and push it around to make the audio speed up or slow down and get to an edit point. It's a Very Frequently Requested Feature. Yes, so @lavomatic - if you want to add a "vote" for scrubbing, let us know...

Re: Subtracting a similar but not identical audio?

Could you perhaps submit a sample? Are the two tracks both mono? The two channels don't have to be 100% identical (the game sound I mean) to improve it with the vocal remover. It depends on the frequency. A 100 Hz tone will be silenced when both channels are in sync. Those are the reduction values f...

Re: Exponential compression via nyquist ?

Certainly, this can be done. The only thing to keep in mind is that zero and negative values have to be treated separately. Do you want to compress sample by sample or with any time constraints (look ahead, attack, decay). There are several functions to convert between linear and logarithmic. The si...

Re: Portable (load "somelib.lsp") -- why not?

There's a forum member that seems to have a Common Lisp background.
I initially hoped for some input from this side.

Re: Portable (load "somelib.lsp") -- why not?

Paul, if you would have asked anything about Pascal and its inventor Niklaus Wirth, I could have served you. Alas, I've no connection to David Betz and must relie therefore on the same sources as you. XLISP 2.0 is open source and that's probably the reason why it makes up the skeleton for Nyquist, a...

Re: Portable (load "somelib.lsp") -- why not?

I don't think that Paul wants to overthrow the Nyquist implementation completely. I find it natural to improve the performance continuously and to remove inherent bugs. The only problem is that Audacity's Nyquist follows one step behind the stand-alone version. The danger is that any improvements ma...

Re: Portable (load "somelib.lsp") -- why not?

Or am I one of very few people who care about such effects, or has tried? The proportion of Audacity users that write Nyquist scripts is tiny. I think it is a fair bet that much less than 1% of Audacity users have ever written a Nyquist script. Rather 1 % of your 1 % or less. How many Downloads has...

BTW, I was using import in V2.0.2, but I went directly to select all then export, and it only exported the last track.
Great that it made the trick.
New Versions have sometimes nice surprises installed for us.

Re: Vocoder help

Switch the two sides, tone left and voice right.
play with the amount of bands. Try also a richer sound, like saw-tooth.
