Re: Mixed sound in channels
My commonplace logical sense tells me that a file exported as a 8-channel mixdown (to be enabled in Preferences-->Import/Export) should actually play as a 7.1 file. Hence, no encoding or decoding necessary. I presume that the sound card (speakers) already runs in 7.1 configuration? Do you use WMP, F...

Re: Using Gsnap to correct the pitch
Thank you Gale, I actually meant the Audio after processing. However, I've realized that there's an old version of gsnap already installed in the effect menu. There are indeed 440 samples (at 44.1 kHz) added to the beginning, after Gsnap + 1 interpolated sample, i.e. non-zero. I don't think that the...

Re: recording mixes from my DAW -- audio oddities
Have you tried the Wasapi input source? It gives the most accurate rendering I've experienced so far. I wonder a little bit about the issues you have, especially the pumping/compression like corruption. Have you already compared the two audio files 1:1? I'm referring to the frequency content (spectr...

Re: New "Tools" Menu
As a naive user I would not look in the Analyze Menu for track splitters that split on either silence/sound or split into regular sections. As a naive user I might look in Generate for a plug-in that I knew generated labels, but I don't think that is a solution. Generate is for audio. I agree that ...

Re: Using Gsnap to correct the pitch
I get the same issue with GSnap, irrespective of attack time. Whatever the sample rate, 10 milliseconds of silent audio are inserted at the start of the processed selection, and 10 milliseconds of the selection are removed at the end. I have not tried GSnap in other hosts but I think the issue is p...

Re: Using Gsnap to correct the pitch
But there's still a gap at the beginning of the processed test signal, isn't there?

Re: Using Gsnap to correct the pitch
A lot of external VST plug-ins work FFT-based. FFT is executed over a certain frame e.g. 1024 samples. Those frames are first multiplied by a window to smooth the result. Imagine a triangular window that emphases the center of the window. For a overlap of 50 %, the output gain will be equal to one, ...

Re: Adding noise overlay to a recording
I would probably archive both versions, the uncensored and the censored one just with other security levels. The problem of the obscuring is, how will a person in 50 years know what procedure is required to recover the signal? You could for instance modulate the signal with a certain carrier frequen...

Re: How to align multiple tracks to the right
You could reverse the tracks, align them with zero, delete the 30 seconds, reverse them again and do the alignement with zero a second and last time.

Re: Two bugs (or at least programming related issues) to V2.
There will be two new move commands be available in version 2.0.6, "Move to Top" and "Move to Bottom". Since they are in the drop down menu, they will only move the track with focus. Nevertheless, a great improvement.
