Re: How do I record an online seminar
Use "Wasapi" as host and "[audio device/Speaker[ Loop back" as input source or "Stereo Mix" if available.

Re: Tempo estimation
Tempo detection is a popular request, but also quite hard to do with complex music. A very simple technique that can help a lot is to have user defined upper and lower limits. Even if the user has only a very rough idea about the tempo (between 60 and 200 bpm) it is enough to rule out silly results...

Re: Tempo estimation
As you say, works well on simple click tracks and drum tracks. Are you going to go for gold and write one that works on complex music? Anything special you've in mind? It is basically a first approach to isolate the (lower) drums from a track to improve the Stereo toolkit. The drum filter I've writ...

Tempo estimation
Hi all, I am sometimes to lazy to note down the tempo of a click track within a project. I've written this simple tool to retrieve the bpm from an existing click track. It comes (in spite of myself) without any controls at all and with a single number as output. rjh-tempo-teller.ny After downloading...

Re: Help problem with tone generator
You can work at the normal sample rate to do the alias experiment. There's the "Resample" option in the track menu, but this won't help you because there's an anti-aliasing filter integrated. Hence, you have to work with the Nyquist prompt, using a linear interpolation: (force-srate *sound...

If it was an mp3 made using Audacity then the actual bit-rate cannot be above 320kbps : that's as high as it goes ... Audacity mp3 export options.gif http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/mp3_export_options.html You can go higher by using the "External Program option". However, the bit rat...

Re: Latest
... It's correct and fine on my computer at home at a bit rate of 224kbps. But somehow the MP3 player changed the one on it to 448 kbps, which means it's just squealing noise and no program will open it. So I don't know what's going on. I've transported many MP3's this way with no problems. The max...

Re: Vectorscope or equivalent
Thanks again, it seems to work. I am not entirely certain what I have to do with the result... A stereo width of 676.0 % is rather high, isn't it? (after Pseudo Stereo and two times Channel Mixer --> extra wide) However, it might be a good indicater how much the volume decreases when played over a m...

Re: Vectorscope or equivalent
Remembering that a proper Jellyfish will also reveal Mono phase problems. "How come the top is one straight line but the bottom is all similar smeary loops?" How's that? Good question. I think a normal vector scope for a monaural sound shows a straight, diagonal line from the left lower t...
