Re: Combining Windows Media Player Playback with Mic Input

Hi Robert I don't understand this post. What's the connection? Brian You've posted a link to the pitch-perfect advertisement video. However, the link to their homepage is not valid anymore. Just in case, someone wants to look at the app. Unfortunately, Audacity can't analyse the mic input in real t...

Re: set mp3 kbps for mono to half of stereo to get same qual

The conclusions that I would draw from this is that for classical music with a wide dynamic range, the audio should be normalized close to 0 dB before encoding, and use a quality setting of at least "Standard" (-V 2). The normalize to 0 dB might help but if you don't want that (for exampl...

Re: Reverb help!

I've extracted some portion of the song, the lead voice is now on the left side and reverb and all doubled voices are on the right side. Bastille.mp3 The overdubbed track is perhaps about 6 dB lower, quite unusual. Do you have the newest version of Audacity? The new reverb effect is superior to the ...

Re: Convert Note to frequency and frequency to note

Most keys have been labelled with properties like triumphant, sombre etc. A lot of people lay down an oath that they do hear those differences in the mood when listening to compositions, modern or classic. The problem is that e.g. at Mozarts time the tuning could be as low as 418 Hz. Thus those colo...

Congratulations Xina,
This went surprisingly fast and smooth at last.
I'm sure there's more to come now that you've licked blood.
All the best for your next projects.

Re: Analysis of Audacity data in excel

Sounds quite interesting (although I am opposed to any kind of weapon). There is presumably some kind of network/relationship between the different samples (shots). The obvious thing is to look at the cross correlation between all of these. We would normally arrange the results in matrices. However,...

Re: Remove verbal content but not voice qualities?

Hi Trebor, "Laryngitis" as effect name doesn't seem to be much of an ear catcher, at least not for us foreigners. How about "Hangover Effect",it is just how I speech after a week of carnival. As I thought, there are many problems for a variable implementation. The first st...

Re: Question about envelopes

Thank you very much Robert! I just tested: (mult s (control-srate-abs *sound-srate* (pwlv 0 1 1))) and it works as advertised (with no fade-out in the end). Thank you for your help! You are welcome. I usually use the low-level function 'snd-pwl', especially for cases where accuracy and independence...

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.

The input gain is still very low.
I think the distance is still so far that the mic catches all reflections unproportionally high in comparison to the direct sound.
Has the snow ball a built in highpass filter that can be turned on?
