Re: Frequency-triggered recording in Audacity?
You can apply a highpass-filter, as Steve has pointed out, on a duplicated second track. If you enable sync lock (track menu) and do "Truncate Silence", you will be left with the parts that hold high-frequency content. The second track is only for triggering and can thus be removed afterwa...

Re: modified silence marker to insert more silence
I can't exactly follow. What is the problematic point in this? As I said, the white space is re-added at the end of the process. Nyquist plug-ins cannot produce white space. The best they can do is to create silence. Example: Track 1 is 10 minutes duration, starting and ending with sounds, with sil...

Re: modified silence marker to insert more silence
Is that not a gap? A dentist would probably say so, even if it is the last tooth in the row that is missing. From an audio book perspective, we have initial silence and trailing silence and gaps between words. The leading and triling silences are m well-defined and need rather manual changing to ha...

Re: Analysing Volume
Use Analyze --> Contrast to get the Rms values (i.e. the average "volume") for either fore- and background or two individual tracks. The maximum is the peak and can be seen via "Amplify" (change the sign in the displayed value). Use it on only one track at a time and press escape...

Re: modified silence marker to insert more silence
The purpose of the plug-in is to extend gaps within a track. I don't know how a user who did not read the fine print of this long topic would find that out, but I see no reason to limit it to exclude the trailing silence. Of course you could wait to see if someone other than me asked for an option ...

Re: Change stereo panning over time?
How do I change the stereo panning over time? Ideally I was hoping there would be a tool like the envelope tool where you could draw a line to determine where the stereo positioning is at any point on the waveform? You can actually split the stereo track and use the envelope tool on the individual ...

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
I thought it was a little lower than that (around 450 'ish but I didn't check) and I note that Robert's Eq curve has a dip at around 500, but we're all picking up a bit of resonance in the low-mid range. I certainly would have lowered at 450 Hz but as there is no way to do that in graphical mode, I...

Re: modified silence marker to insert more silence
I've no objection to a "Maximum Length" control. I still don't like "Stretch Silence" as a name, so I vote for "Extend Silence". There's always the option of running "Truncate Silence" after increasing the duration of the silences. Truncate Silence has been r...

Re: Always loop?
Is there any way to make the audio loop when I select a specific section within a loop? No, you can't adjust the selection borders during looping. Here's a plug-in that might be of some use to you (windows only) rjh-looptest.ny It plays the last and the first second of the current selection in succ...
