Re: [Solved] VST delay handling broken/nonexisting in Audaci

Thanks Gunnar I only use Audacity because it is the most accessible audio editor. I'm probably going to translate your plug-in into Nyquist code, it allows at least multi-pass. This would be very helpful to correct outlayers. As far as I can see, the structure is mainly made up from convolving a pea...

Re: [Solved] VST delay handling broken/nonexisting in Audaci

Your Vst plug-in introduces some nasty clicks in the audio (on windows 7 at least). - Default settings - Audacity 2.0.6a - with music or chirp tone - 44100 Hz - buffer 8192 - compensation on I think you should give some more descriptive names for the sliders i.e. write them out--meant for text only ...

Re: What is the standard RMS value for music?

Mr Friedemann of the European Broadcasting Union has been strongly involved in creating a simple dynamic range labelling system called "DR14". The meters return a single value, comparable with the crest factor (peak minus rms, in dB). As the 14 suggests, 14 is regarded as a good value. How...

Re: VST delay handling broken/nonexisting in Audacity!

Actually, you do not have to bring any evidence--the problem is known. Each Vst dialog of the version 2.0.6 has a special settings button where this offset can be corrected. It is presumably always the size of the fft that the plug-in uses. This means that it is a power of two, e.g 1024, 2048, 4096 ...

Re: ACX says screaming man is "heavily distorted audio"...

I'm afraid there's indeed some distortion going on. Here's a second version with a smoothed and attenuated gaaap: mind the gap.wav It is stretched by "Paul Stretch", resampled temporarily to 11025 Hz (to remove all above 5.5 kHz) and attenuated by 6 dB (the scream only) It nicely imitates ...

Re: Fading Effect Problem!

I would suggest the turntable warping plug-in , it is exactly made for this kind of effect.

Re: Meeting ACX Requirements w/ Audacity

Re: Meeting ACX Requirements w/ Audacity

Analyze > Audiobook Noise Floor That one does not exist yet. However, you can select a section of "noise only" and use "Wave Stats". No wonder that I wasn't able to find that one, although Koz has mentioned it several times. Analyze > Wave Stats Download "stats.ny" fro...
