Re: Windfarms & ETSU-R-97 tonality checking
Thanks for that lets focus on the sub 500Hz range - I am new to Audacity but have programmed many other apps elsewhere Where do I enter the code you gave me ? Effect menu --> Nyquist Prompt It is basically a LISP interpreter with extended sound support. It is intended to test some code on the fly (...

Re: Need help extracting music from video file
What do you mean by voices?
Do you want to keep the dialog or the music?
The first needs Center Isolation and the second Center Removal.
Both won't give great results.
Attach a audio extract if you want an example separation.

Re: Windfarms & ETSU-R-97 tonality checking

Re: Creating Accapella Versions
You can at least isolate the center in the original. It holds mainly the lead vocals, drums and some spurious instruments. In your case, the lead is about 8 dB louder than without isolation. However, the reverb is removed too and the autotune effect is very audible. Finding a good voice and record i...

Re: Help Decoding RAW File
I think you'll have to ask the person who gave you the files. I agree it sounds best at signed 8-bit PCM. The file seems to sound better as Big Endian and I think 44100 Hz sounds right. Endianess refers to the byte order, thus it doesn't apply to 8-bit. Oh yes, because 8 bits to a byte? But that ra...

Re: Replacing silences with background noise of the movie
You can use the auto duck effect to replace the silence with noise. (this post is parallel to the previous one, thus the similarities) Import the audio. Generate noise. - either thru the Generate menu. - or by copying a longer silent part from the original and repeating it to match the length. gener...

Re: Any way to organize my effects list? Part 2
For some effects, the manual definition wouldn't be bad. Vst plug-ins in particular tend to be ill-named and have either Vst in Front or the manufacturers name. I'm personally not interested in the fact that it is a Vst-plug-in but rather if it is a limiter or a phaser. See plugins.cfg in the Audac...

I can confirm that.Gale Andrews wrote:If you had Windows 7 or Windows 8 you could use the Windows WASAPI host and loopback input in Audacity which (I believe) is entirely digital.
