Re: Extracting the Center Channel - possible in Audacity?
As I've explained before, the inverted types are for the application on duplicated tracks. Silencing parts in the original track gives an acapella version. Silencing parts in the processed track gives the original version. Letting both tracks play at the same time gives the Karaoke version. It is i...

Re: Extracting the Center Channel - possible in Audacity?
Plus I think the "coffee" joke in the action message ought to be something more staid. Gale I had to look that one up... "Something that is staid is dignified, respectable — possibly even boring, like a staid dinner party that is heavy on the important guests but light on the laughs." It would cert...

Re: Remove background music
Thanks for the file, MuffinMan The music is relatively loud. A great deal can be removed by isolating the center but not all and what's left has some artefacts. The idea is of course to mix in your own music afterwards or to be content with a gentler setting that leaves more background but less arte...

Re: Remove background music
Do you have a sample file to attach? A few seconds should be enough.

Re: Snapping to silence when inserting regular interval labe
Hi I hope this plugin will work for you: AlbumGapMarker.ny Put it in your plugin folder and restart audacity. As the name implies, it is actually for music albums (or alba?). However, It works as well for your purpose: Set the minimum length to detect to 0.1 seconds. set the seconds before a new lab...

Re: Problems with the new Noise Reduction replacing Noise Re
Actually 12.6.6. We needed a little more aggression than the devil could do. Is it still the case that if you start getting closer to 20, you should probably start addressing other shortcomings in your recording environment? 12 used to leave just barely audible stuff floating in the sound (snake vo...

Re: Problems with the new Noise Reduction replacing Noise Re
On a bright, cheery note. I've used the new Noise Reduction several times now with gentle settings and it appears to work as on the tin with few if any evil artifacts. I haven't needed to rescue projects on death's door, either, but what I've done sounds good. Koz What do you mean with gentle setti...

Re: Problems with the new Noise Reduction replacing Noise Re
Another possible difficulty: There doesn't seem to be a input control. Enter "-10" as noise reduction factor Wow - I just "accidentally" typed in "-12" as the Noise Reduction amount and ended up with +335.4 dB of gain  If we take 0 dB as one meter, this would be equal to 6.22408 Light Years....
