Re: Native notch-filter will not notch above 10kHz :¬(

I really wonder why we support such high sample rates like 384 kHz but limit our filters. We could have a "range" control to select "Hz" or "kHz" and then have the frequency control range as 1 to 1000. If the selected frequency is above the Nyquist frequency, then the plug-in would return an error ...

Peter, do you have any sample of this web carrier sound?
I just wonder if a filter with pitch following or a phase lock loop wouldn't be better for that.

Or is it already incorporated into releases?

Peter.
It belongs rather to the audio book production sub forum.

Re: Native notch-filter will not notch above 10kHz :¬(

Don't try it with the newest version, it crashes Audacity. Thanks for mentioning that. Even if "rate" is not supported, it shouldn't crash, so that's a bug that should be fixed. Anyways, this is presumably the kind of approach to take, define a variable that can be inserted instead of an absolute n...

Re: Eliminate room reflection?

I think I've covered this problem exhaustively in the longest thread in the forum (what was Ian's topic title, Koz?). I've also came up with a special EQ curve for that particular room. It is of course the best strategy to avoid these reflections altogether before recording. I presume that you've al...

Re: Native notch-filter will not notch above 10kHz :¬(

In that case you'd need to offer notch center frequencies above 20 KHz too, for those recording wildlife or mechanical vibrations. In fact, I'm surprised by the number of people recording bats on this forum. +1 I've mentioned the range problem for e.g. high and low pass on the developer's mailing l...

Re: New Default for Amplify Effect?

Kozikowski answered the question I had in mind but didn't express well. Thanks! I do some audio-book work and one of the commonest tasks in editing is to silence a quick gasp between parts of long sentences. The next most common is to silence the gap between sentences. :D You could make your own Ny...

Re: regression 2.1.1: cannot play 1-sec

Update: the bug appeared in the very first start of 2.1.1. After restarting, it seems to have gone. Probably not. It will reappear if you start a new session. If the short cuts "1", "c" and so on do not work: - Hit record - stop after a short time - hit Undo This sets a flag that enables those spec...

Re: Is there a "Repeat Last Command" shortcut?

The effects in the Effect menu can be repeated by pressing Ctrl+R (Windows) - it's probably Cmd+R on the Mac. The item can also be found right under "Manage" in the Effect menu. It uses the plug-in's last settings without the GUI popping up again. Note: it won't work for Analyze or Generate Plug-ins...
