Re: Speed change error

Audacity has a program error in the way it does speed change. Say I want to change from 100 sec to 110s. That's a 10% change. -10%. But Aud increases it by 11 sec. It figures 10% of 110s is 10%. Basic arithmetic logic. Or maybe you are using a different valid logic. All versions including 2.1.1. Th...

Re: Labels behaviour

Hi, yes the same helbpfull "Play" feature I need too.( look at: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=86066 ) So, when you open the menu item "Edit Text Mark" and the box appears, it is not possible when you select the relevant entry to be able to play this. That would be a big help. Y...

Re: Verdict on the settings for new Noise Reduction?

Default smoothing will be 6 in future versions. I am pleased we finally increased default smoothing, but don't you think it looks odd to have a default at the extreme of a slider scale? Gale My thoughts too. The extreme should in any case be higher - 10 or 12. If I'm correct, 6 is approx. 150 Hz an...

Re: Audacity Noise Removal Problem

I currently use the Kraken Pro headset ... the voice a sort of echo-y feel to it .... https://soundcloud.com/blizzkrut/sets/audacity-sound-problem You're not recording from the microphone you think you are: that's not the headset-mic , that's probably a recording from the mic built-into the compute...

Re: Are there any projects based on Audacity?

There have been some legitimate customised versions over the years. I don't have details, though "Audacity Portable" comes to mind (a version of Audacity for "PortableApps". There are also unofficial (illegal) modified versions of Audacity distributed as "Audacity" that are suspected of containing ...

Re: Strange noises on telephone

So I never recorded it digitally. No. I just took a video of it with my Samsung phone and converted the video to mp3. I am so totally lost. You said the cellphone hung up and the noise occurred on your home phone, I assume "telephone or land-line." Koz Yeah, my brother searched for cellphone so he ...

Re: Stand-Alone Recorder

Center Isolation does a better job in this regard, minus 120 dB at least. May not be an unqualified joy. That depends on me being in the exact center of the microphone during the presentation. If I'm not, that portion of the voice direction error will drop out of center isolation giving me a swimmy...

Re: Stand-Alone Recorder

That's another decision. I created that clip by Stereo > Mono mixing. I could also have used either of the two directions. I think the noise gets better when I do it this way. By what? Square root of something something? Square root of 1 divided by two = 6 dB at hard left or right. Again, Center Is...
