Re: Pro-grammable fade

This penguin thing starts to be a nuisance. no proper playback available No key navigation in multichoice controls plug-ins can be anywhere When found the folder is likely read-only and what next? It seems that I have to specify my plug-ins with "Windows only". The code from the fileio.lsp is primar...

Re: Pro-grammable fade

I hope you don't mind Steve. I've made some changes to your original. The configuration tool no more saves an *.cfg file It modifies the Pro Fade Out plug-in directly. The pro fade out is now very slim again. It does no longer have to load the cfg-file. Only a comment refers still to the configurati...

Re: Adjustable Fade

Your once again totally right, Steve. What's more, The root of a quarter sine cycle is nothing but a raised cosine over 180°. In other words, I can get my quarter sine by selecting the S-curve ans positioning the mid-adjust fader to +50% - a preset that already exists. To show that it is the same: (...

Re: Adjustable Fade

I didn't want to confuse you with my curve but fortunately Steve has recognized which one I meant. The weird thing is that the basic function changes with the fade type used: Fade-ins: - S-curve = sine from -90° to +90° (raised by one, divided by 2), mid-fade = 0.5 (-6 dB) - "medium convex" = sine fr...

Re: Adjustable Fade

Sounds good to me, as far as I can tell.
I wonder, wasn't there not also the quarter cosine curve? Not that I would miss it very badly.
However, it is my favorite type for short fade-ins (Sine curve 0° to 90°). It has that smooth curve at the end, in contrast to a pure linear fade, with its hard knee.

Re: Adding background noise oder background muisc

Hi silencesound A lot of things can be done by Nyquist but we must know what exactly you want to do. You could for example: - Import all mp3's - select all tracks you want noise to be added to. - add the noise via the Nyquist prompt or a specially created plug-in - export the tracks again. That's ab...

Re: Adjustable Fade

I don't want to introduce a second slider at this stage of the plug-in development, although it could be kept in mind for a C+ adaption of the plug-in, where the result of the moved sliders can be previewed in the graphical output. I imagine, it will then behave like setting up the graphical EQ. Whe...

Re: Pro-grammable fade

Thank you Steve. This brings us a huge step nearer to the customizable fades I've proposed a few weeks ago. Audacity has an orphine folder called "presets" which would be ideal to save the config file (better than in the home directory, would it be not?). But it seems to be hard to allocate its exac...

Re: Adjustable Fade

(Steve has meanwhile given a good summary of my view on the subject, you can skip the rest of this post altogether if you don't want to read along my somewhat alluve statements) I have not yet given any vote whatsoever. I wanted to show in my post above, which difficulties arise from the meddling of...

Re: Adjustable Fade

The problem that Steve's adjustable fade has to face is that there's a eminent source of confusion when trying to implement both types of fades, namely Fade up/down and Cross fade. It is nearly the same as comparing rectangles with squares. Firstly Fade-ins: Any function can serve as an Fade-in (or ...
