Hi Steve
Isn't it rather weird that a single channel command returns a stereo channel (whereas the stereo version returns a scattered version of both)?
By the way, (aref s 1) does the same thing for the right channel.

Re: Importing text as audio/exporting audio as text
That's quite clear so far, but I am not aware of a application that makes use of RAW data. There are some situations imaginable though. But in most cases, a file header is needed anyway, I guess. Either way, exporting normal sample data won't be much asked for (other than text or audio files). Howev...

Re: Converting one MP3 file to 20 individual MP3 files.
I hope you still have the file from the thumb drive, because, if you load the mp3 file into audacity, it is converted to wav and on export back to mp3 (if you wish so). What format has the big file? A lot of formats can be imported into Audacity if fmpeg is installed. Otherwise, the quality gets poo...

Re: Importing text as audio/exporting audio as text
Nyquist can export the numbers in a txt format or as bytes, ie.e. a binary file. But I fail to see the advantage in this (over and ordinary audio file) unless it is for a totally different file format (e.g. midi to text and vice-versa). I can't think of a concrete application of a pure data export u...

big or little indian endian. Koz Big Oops! I didn't want to introduce additional ethnic flavour, especially when we're talking about a chinese pen anyway. Thanks Koz. Ok, how big are those files? I mean, for a certain length of speech. Are you sure they aren't simple text files (from the OCR) which...

Re: How to play and edit audio files with .bnl extention
Are there any specifications available? If it is a uncompressed format, the file could be read as raw. Since it is originating from a TTS engine, the sound-rate is probably 22 or 16 kHz. Another question is if big or little indian is used (which bits are coming first, LSB or MSB). But the informatio...

Re: How to increase FFT resolution?
If you only want the numerical values, you can as well use the ttf function of Nyquist. As far as I know, the bins are not limited. A very simple example, that lets you hear the amplitudes within a saw-table. Resolution is 32768 bins. The resulting array is immediately reversed into a sound in order...

What says the log protocol? You'll find it under help >> show log.

Re: Looking for a "smooth" effect?
What exactly do you mean by "moving" the sound?
Is it in the stereo field you want it to move?
Or up and down the frequency spectrum, i.e. what axis should the sound be moved along?

Re: How do get an out-of-tune effect on Audacity?
Steve, isn't that your turntable plug-in. To me, it just appears it is that warping effect tomclinton wants. Of course, it is not quite the same since in those shows the live musicians produce the chaos at the end by playing detuned individually. However, it is a typical effect to simply let die the...
