Re: ZX Spectrum
Maybe you could upload/attach a sample piano sound. The easiest way would be to use a player with zx sound emulation (google it). The original sound chip has 3 voices (so tie 7 fingers back onto your palm...) The waveform generated is a square pulse. You could duplicate your melody, shift pitch them...

Re: My narrator's pause-trimmer
Obviously, I didn't get it right. lol. I had somehow the impression that the whole pause, including short sections of the sentences were selected in the beginning. I wonder, wouldn't it not be much more comfortable to select an arbitrary chunk within the pause, to preview the reminder with the c key...

Re: dB definition in help
Yes, that is certainly faulty.
It isn't even true for Bel, since we are dealing with amplitudes and those are doubled by 6 dB and 10-fold by 20 dB. Or in linear terms: 0 dB = 1 and -20 dB is 0.1.

Re: Direct help for a BLIND user of Audacity
I try to prevent my Inbox from briming over. However, It is certainly interesting what has been written in 7 years. And it is certainly easier to follow up a subject when it is automatically sent to you. It would give a great tips and tricks book if the valuable information from the archive could be...

Re: Keeping Temp files longer or autosave feature
It would be certainly worthwhile to save the last undo actions beyond sessions. It could be limited to a percentage of the project data increase or to a fixed megabyte amount, both adjustable in preferences. Regarding the auto save: It would be nice when the projects that were discarded were at leas...

Re: My narrator's pause-trimmer
It is indeed a little confusing with all the selecting steps. Let me see if I got it right: - The purpose of the first selection is to preview the section you're working with. - You then play this section and re-set the left margin where (according to your "feel") the sentence should start. - differ...

Thank you gale for the hint.
Bailes' guide is really recommendable for a start up.
Our tastes divert regarding the mailing list.
There's too much advertisement and the navigating is horrible.
However, everyone has to decide for himself.

Re: Direct help for a BLIND user of Audacity
The mailing list may be a little cumbersome and deals mostly with specific problems. I am maybe one of the most proficient blind users on this forum. I am always trying to improve the accessibility of the program by either writing Nyquist plug-ins or post my biased opinions about accessibility issue...

Re: Why my nyquist example count not execute?
I can't see a fault at first glance. - Maybe you have used "forbidden" characters in your file name. - Or you haven't restarted Audacity - Or the Text format is not ANSI. - Or the file extension is hidden and would be in fact "mytest.ny.txt". What says the log file? You'll find it under help, last e...
