Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes

The files produced by multiple export, using custom Fmpeg, have the same size and overall media information (incl. big endianess) as a single exported file. That's why I assume that they do play.Do you see any issue there? Please give exact steps to reproduce that, then we can give audio_pete a fil...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes

Ok, it seems that I've at last found the culprit. An Aiff file is built up with chunks. Each chunk has a 4-character ID, followed by a 32-bit number that indicates the length of the data in this chunk. AIFF is a sub-format of IFF and therefore the header will begin with the ID's 'FORM' and 'AIFF'. T...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes

@Gayle I am aware that foobar2000 is on Windows only. I needed a program that converted the original aiff files such that they are playable on the iPod while keeping the tags. iTunes has added much more bytes then foobar, thus a byte by byte comparison will be harder. It is like in statistics, the m...

Re: Toggling between labels in single track

You could set the play shortcut to cmd-space for example.
The normal space behaviour is not altered by this assignment - or another one.

Re: Simple Step To Next Cut

(2 new posts meanwhile...) The label solution could benefit from a play button in the edit labels dialog - a feature that is already proposed. By the way, the delay for a sound played by a nyquist plug-in is currently 0.3 s. It would be easy to write a plug-in (or rather 3 in a bundle) that can cycl...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes

Would you mind testing the Foobar2000 version? tone 2fb.aiff It is nearer to the original than the iTunes version (only 12 bytes bigger). It seems that iTunes adds a lot of stuff. Foobar2000 was a bit anxious. When I downloaded it, it got iTunes attention and marched right in on autopilot. Played f...

Re: Simple Step To Next Cut

I've read the thread, but the solution that spontaneously came to my mind does not work on Mac or Linux. Imagine a Nyquist plug-in with 2 controls: - a multi choice with the entries 0, 1, ... y, z. - a text field with the path to a label file. You can now create up to 36 labels and export them as a ...

Re: Bass Tilt Plug-in

If you're working with Notepad++, you can simply select all and press shift-tab. This will reduce all indentation by 4 spaces (default setting).

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes

Unfortunately, the new files do not support my first hypothesis. The picture has changed totally. Now, the iTunes files have increased in size. (well, the converter was Amadeus for the last set) Original: File name : 02-s.aiff File size : 259 KB (265 484 bytes) iTunes: File name : 02 tone 2.aiff Fil...
