Re: Vinyl Pop/Click sound?

We've once written a plug-in with different background noises. Add Noise.ny Put it in your plug-in folder and restart Audacity. It appears in the effect menu. This means that it only works with existing tracks and does not generate a new one. Set the mix to 100 %. You can thicken the noise by applyi...

Re: EXTRACT and AT don't interact as expected

Look at it in this way: Sounds are evaluated sequentially. There's no random access possible due to the implementation. Let's say we want to look at the last 10 % of a sound. We can easily display the samples of an oscillator by typing (print (snd-samples (extract 0.9 1 (osc c5 10)) ny:all)) This sh...

That sounds nice, Trebor,

Re: EXTRACT and AT don't interact as expected

I don't think that the last example will work without a "anchor" point, ie, a dummy sound at time 0. Something like (sim (s-rest 0) (at 10.0 (osc c5))) All functions you're using are relative, this may cause the odd number (although the stand-alone Nyquist starts with a duration of 1, in c...

Re: Which $60 Win XP/7 computer for new Voice Over actor?

I think that the "2in1" refers to the automatic recognition if head phones are connected (or alternatively, on the In side microphone/line-in). That's at least the case on my Dell. However, I have a desktop computer and a creative sound card. The settings for the automatic/manual choice ar...

Re: Toggling between labels in single track

Which reminds me that clips are still not accessible.
Two shortcuts "select next clip" and "select previous clip" wouldn't be bad.

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes

The multiple export of Audacity is after al behaving correctly and compliant with the specifications. However, I am not sure if those 3 extra text chunks are necessary - all information is in the ID3 tag too. The three text chunks are optional. One possibility would be to drop the text chunks, but ...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes

Oh......... We are back to multi export files are practically perfect in every way....... and let's tell the developer(s) of riff-pad their product is broken too basta Let us be thankful that Riff-Pad shows the same buggy behaviour as the iPod. I doubt that I would have noticed the relationship bet...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes

Stupid question, but are there no firmware updates that could correct this behaviour on older iPods?
Interestingly that Aple products do not abide by their house-made specifications. I'd expected this rather from MS.

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes

It may wel be that the results of Riff-Pad are simply not trustworthy. Perhaps, it simply looses track of the chunks if it calculates the next position on the size value alone and does not skip zero-padded bytes. (But who knows, if the iPod does not something similar...) If we had the right sponsor,...
