Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
The problem that we currently know about is where any of four metadata fields: Artist Name, Track Title, Comments and Copyright have an odd number of characters including spaces (for example, three characters instead of four). If the player reads the AIFF version of these tags rather than ignoring ...

Re: Removing background talk from mp3
http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=73313#p216689 has an isolation function built-in. However, the background noise and especially the speech is very broad spread. Thus, the ringing can almost perfectly be removed, but the opposite is not the case. That's about the best you can ex...

Re: How would one create an audio effect of spinning?
It is very tricky to produce binaural effects from "scratch". Even if recorded, not all people are able to localize the intended directions, especially front and back. I've included some spinning effects in a plug-in. They are rather intended for speakers, but they might suit your needs an...

Re: 2.0.3 - 10.8.4 MS ADPCM Conversion causing major distort
The difference is fairly obvious.
I've normalized both files and inverted one.
The remaining sound is quite abominable. Especially drum rolls, noisy and high sounds seem to differ the most.

Re: 2.0.3 - 10.8.4 MS ADPCM Conversion causing major distort
[...]I'm not talking about overall sound quality, i'm talking about bursts of distortion. The old version of twistedwave gave me the exact issue, but he corrected. I believe the new library that he replaced it with is SoX or something. I think the libsnd is what he was using before. The producer ID...

Re: Changing tempo on multiple files at once
Thanks very much to both of you. I did mean just to speed it up, since a 25% increase in speed is still very listenable. I was just tired of doing each one individually. I'll keep the 'truncate silence' effect in mind, though. Thanks! Visual impaired people do this all the time. That's the speed of...

Re: Changing tempo on multiple files at once
What do you mean by compressing them? Do you want to save disk space or do you want them to play faster? The former can be achieved by resampling it to a lower sample rate. For the latter, you can also use the "Truncate Silence" effect, if the podcast has overlong pauses. I went with what...

Re: Vinyl Pop/Click sound?
Thanks, I'm playing around with the crackle and white noise settings to try and get it just right. Is there anyway it could be added as an option to the add noise plug-in under "Type of noise"? I guess I could just experiment with the existing settings and then save the result, ...

Re: Amplitude peaks decrease with increasing bin sizes: Norm
Some of the behaviour is explainable. Two frame sizes are per se not comparable. One of 1024 bins has twice as much input samples as one that is made of 512 samples. Even by using two for the second case, the result won't be the same. Let's say we have two window sizes, one has bins for each 100 Hz ...
