Re: eq

The import dialog (not open dialog) let's you load as much songs as you like at once into one project.
But chains can also be applied to files that are not loaded (see the Apply Chain dialog).

Re: isolating bass

What song? Is it in stereo? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_TJGYglTaM Barney Miller Theme. This is the best version I've found on youtube. Thank you. The easiest way and the least expensive low pass filtering can be achieved by simply down-sampling the audio. The remaining frequency are below half...

Re: V2.0.4 Sample Format Mismatch

Before we spend too much time on this, is 2.0.3 any different http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-win-2.0.3.zip ? I've hoped that someone has still an older version of Audacity. I don't wanna scramble up my preferences again. Is the objective to measure what has been recorded? I am writin...

V2.0.4 Sample Format Mismatch

Hello, it seems that 2.0.4 causes some head ache. I've stumbled over another issue that might be limited to my installed sound card only. I've been trying to force Wdm-ks to play back over the speakers. After fiddling with all possible settings in Audacity and the sound control panel, I've eventuall...

Re: How to find "track marks" in audio file

You could search for the marks with a hex editor. Each mp3 frame has its own header (which isn't there after decoding, that's why you'll don't see anything in the waveform). one frame is about 1152 samples or so long. There are programs that can display the individual frame information. If you can l...

Re: eq

There's another scenario thinkable: A 2 or 3 band split replay gain could be added to a chain. The replay gain plug-in would be such modified that you can set three 2 or target values for low (mid) and high frequency range. This plug-in would do the eq-ing and the normalization (following the loudne...

Re: Combining tones trouble

There are a lot of real instruments that can produce frequencies out of "nothing" or better from a few simultaneously played frequencies. You'll here after a while the differences and the sums of the two sounds. Church bells are extreme in this respect because some tones can take more than...

Re: Unrestricted Audacity 2.0.4 is working fine on Windows 8

It presumably can't play previously recorded sounds along with the sound in the web browser. This overdubbing works with WDS. I can't test it myself, the playback with Wdm-ks does not yet work on my system. I succeeded twice to play a sound after calling properties in the control panel and pressing ...

Re: Error Saving Project 2.0.4

Steve, it might be good to ask other users too, if the temp path has changed after a 2.0.4 installation. Audacity has produced a absolute non-sense path on my system (maybe, because I've tried it first from the zip-version, like a nightly built). Who knows what other kind of bugs such a wrong alloca...
