Re: Command line functions or software integration
The german is a real funny one... the sentence implies that it runs with Audacity (instead of gaz...). The literal meaning is "driven by". I would translate it rather as "betrieben von" - as it would be applied to the sentence at the bottom of this page: "Betrieben von phpBB...

Re: Has anyone found a demodulator for CD4 (Quadraphonic) Vi
That would be great Tim. There's for one part the delay I am interested in. The base band is normally delayed by about 40 ms. This time is needed to demodulate the 30 kHz FM signal. The difference might best be seen at the very beginning of a recording. Then, there's the RIAA equalization that must ...

Re: Bandwith limited when ripping vinyl
... One could possibly test the effect with lower bit formats, such as 4/12/20 or 8/16/24. Reducing the bit-depth can add harmonics, (which could be perceived as an improvement on a dull original) ... original sine, then progressively reducing bit-depth which adds harmonics.flac That's a fact. In t...

Re: Suggestion: Repair Limits
Why sub-optimal? The movement of the mouse would drag the 128 bit frame around, so you would exactly know what region the repair is applied to. Because as discussed earlier in this thread, a skilled user will often carefully choose a smaller number of samples (sometimes much smaller than 128) to ef...

Re: Bandwith limited when ripping vinyl
... the majority of people find the sound better in 24 bits. So, what the point about this, its it just psychological? :o If true in a blind test , (so not placebo), possibly an unintentional exciter effect which could occur when converting from a 32 bit master to 24 bit, (32/24 = 1.333333333333333...

Re: Has anyone found a demodulator for CD4 (Quadraphonic) Vi
I wonder how accurate the specified frequency is? I guess it will be highly dependent on the quality and condition of the turntable. Also, how much the speed/frequency will drift over the course of a record. The carrier frequency should be very accurate. The recording has been cut at 11.1 rpm and t...

Re: Suggestion: Repair Limits
The most intuitive way would probably be to have a "Repair Tool", i.e. a brush with the 128 sample-width. You simply click where the audio should be repaired. Then that goes back to doing a repair centred on the click point which seems sub-optimal compared to choosing the selection. It mi...

Re: Has anyone found a demodulator for CD4 (Quadraphonic) Vi
That was my intention anyway, at least if I have to use the 'atan' function. However, later a lookup table could be great to perform several tasks at once. I've also implemented the PLL variant - all object-oriented. However, the results are not yet convincing due to the lack of information about th...
