Re: Annoying sound effects in Documentaries
It is fairly easy to reduce background sounds, if you have the docu as audio file and in stereo by isolating the center. The center panned holds all dialogs and the narrator's voice. However, I am not aware of any hardware solution that does it in real time on a video signal, except when you're list...

Re: Question about high and lowpass filters and noise remova
You've not written which highpass type you mean. HP is totally different from HighPass2 - 8. All Biquad filters introduce a phase shift, in general 90 degrees at the cut off point (depending on the filter order). You can also create these lp/hp effects by substraction with help of "allpass2&quo...

Re: Track Drop-down Menu commands
Seems reasonable.
And you still have "C" for a possible "Swap Stereo Channels" command.
How about calling up a dialog box for "Move Track Before" like those for selecting the host, input and so on?

Re: Track Drop-down Menu commands
Another elegant solution: Clever idea Robert, but that is much more complicated to code and may be beyond my limited abilities. You're much too modeste. We grow with our tasks... It shouldn't be that hard to get the track names and gather them in a sub-menu. In future, other commands could perhaps ...

Re: Command line functions or software integration
Will these tool also be useable for the general public?
I ask, because there may be some interest for scheduled recordings.
For example, in a recent post, one user wants to record 5 minutes ambient noise every one hour.
We've got plenty of these "surveillance" posts.

Re: Track Drop-down Menu commands
[Rather than "Move Track to Top / Bottom" creating just one "undo" event, I can make it create a "Move Track Up / Down" event for each step of the journey. The advantage of this is that, for example, if you have 10 tracks and you want to move the tenth track so that it...

Re: Track Drop-down Menu commands
I've split this topic and moved it to "Adding Features". An example: a command "Move Track to Top" could easily replace 10 "Move Track Up" commands if one can't use a mouse I'm currently looking at doing that, and "Move Track to Bottom". This will bring the m...

Re: Track Drop-down Menu commands
Of course, "Swap Channels" on Left channel of a stereo track that has been split (pedants' version - so that it is now a mono track assigned to left) is ambiguous. But I think we agree that naive users wouldn't understand if it did what you say is the "correct" behaviour for it,...
Re: recording
By the way, "Append Record" is Shift+r.
The Slide or Time Shift tool is F5 (F1: back to the Selection tool).

Re: Command line functions or software integration
Hi Edgar, Here's your translation file back. I've inserted several leading "-"s, for the short and long form switches (hope, that's right). However, I've left it out for the question mark of the help switch. In the English translation of some error messages, the quotes are missing too (not...
