Re: Can I create an Lt-Rt mixdown in Audacity?
I've presently written some Hilbert stuff and applied to a simple chirp (dual mono). After shifting the right channel by 90 degrees, the left channel disappears (although the amplitude is actually equal). The Hilbert transform is made up by 2 x 4 Biquad filters (as allpass). The problem is that I've...

Re: Mix to New Track
Yes, it IS in the manual, but these days it is a big manual. Dominic was very keen on the idea of "discoverability", which in this case would be very much aided by making the option visible in the Tracks menu. Funnily enough, the command is already in the Tracks menu, but for some reason ...

Re: Can I create an Lt-Rt mixdown in Audacity?
Lt-Rt isn't as simple as folding the channels together. For proper Dolby decoding you must put certain channels out of phase so the decoder can extract proper L-R-C-Ls-Rs from a 2-chan source. Yeah... I thought you wanted stereo. You didn't say you wanted a Dolby Surround or Dolby Pro Logic encoder...

Re: Can I create an Lt-Rt mixdown in Audacity?
The previous post was actually the inverse of what you want. To quote Wikipedia: Lt/Rt is a downmix suitable for decoding with a Dolby Pro Logic upmixer to obtain 5.1 channels again. Lt/Rt is also suitable for stereophonic sound playback on a hi-fi or on headphones as it is. Lt = L + -3dB*C + -3dB*(...

Re: Can I create an Lt-Rt mixdown in Audacity?
You can create L-C-R with the following tool: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=73313#p216689 Load your stereo file and duplicate it. Use "Remove center" on the first track, this gives the left and right channel. Use "Isolate Center" on the second track, this...

Re: Audacity 2.0.5 release candidate 1 available for testing
Leland can record multi-channel loopback if he sets Recording Channels to the maximum channels. It fails for playback in the first place - it gives a device error. Changing the channels alters nothing. There are at the moment only 2 speakers connected though. However, the sound output works under W...

Re: Best Audacity config for low freq recording project ?
You can record continuously.
But you don't have to record at 44100 Hz if you only want to catch low frequencies.
Try 11025 Hz or less (project sample rate).

Re: Audacity 2.0.5 release candidate 1 available for testing
Thanks for testing, Robert. Wasapi records fine from speaker loopback (unless I choose a multichannel profile such as 5.1, this gives a device error, in playback mode too). Where are you choosing the multi-channel profile? Can you set Audacity to record more than two channels in Preferences? I've c...

Re: Track Drop-down Menu commands
undo moves the focus to the first track It's a bug: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=510 . In your example (rename the fourth track, move it up, undo move) is it most useful for the focus to move back to the fourth track, or stay on the third track? Generally (as a sighted user) I e...

Re: Exported Spectrum overwrites existing file.
I share Steve's opinion, it's the simplest solution and a expected behaviour.
