Re: Frustrations from a Training Manager
7). the playback cursor can get very confusing. For instance, if you position the cursor, then playback a few seconds of audio, then stop, then decide to select a bit of audio from this stopped position, it is very difficult to do this because the selected audio will occur from where the cursor was...

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks
I am experimenting with eq-band now. I am filtering white noise and using spectrum analysis to see what the response is like. I thought it was supposed to have a broad, flat floor in the middle, but instead, with two octave width, I see a broad notchy shape. (More gradual than a "notch filter....

Re: Delete extraneous labels
Ah, I see. Just another unaccessible item. Of course a "right click menu" is not accessible. If you don't use a pointing device with a right click then you can't right click, but that is no reason to not have right click menus. The "commands" ARE accessible. I quoted shortcut se...

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks
Eq-band is a nice function, but I remember vaguely that the variable version doesn't produce the same result as the fixed one (with identical constants).
Areson and Reson are also good candidates for that purpose.

Re: Delete extraneous labels
Ah, I see. Just another unaccessible item. Inaccessible because they are in a context menu? Yes, partly so. All context variants (context menu, shift F10) do only show the drop down menu for the selected label track. I could theorethically place the mouse pointer to the actual navigator object (lik...

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks
I have not read the whole thread from years ago about Trevor's idea of slope, clip, then integrate as a procedure for removing spikes. My first thought is that if the slopes of the two sides of the spike are not equal in absolute value, then a dc offset is introduced, until the next spike where the...

Re: Delete extraneous labels
I count 4 items (Name, Font, Move Track Up, Move Track Down) waxcylinder is referring to the "right click on label" menu which has the options "Cut, Copy, Paste" for the label text. These are equivalent to using Ctrl+X, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V. The proposed right-click menu item should b...

Re: Track Drop-down Menu commands
I would move the entry "Swap Stereo Channels" one up, just after Mono, Left and Right. I think the order is OK as it is, because you cannot swap stereo channels until you make stereo track, but let Steve decide. My reasoning for placing it where I did is that the options "Mono, Left ...

Re: Delete extraneous labels
I doubt that there would be much enthusiasm for adding just one right click option for label tracks, but the developers don't like to review huge patches either, so perhaps I'll see if I can get it committed as "experimental" while we sort out other useful right click label track items. B...

Re: Track Drop-down Menu commands
If I send a track from the bottom to the top, the focus should return to the bottom after undo. That is happening here with the current (one undo) patch, so are we ready to take this to developer review? No, the focus goes always to the first/top track after Undo, when using NVDA. However, this doe...
