Re: Audacity-win-2.2.2.exe checksum match problem

Thank you. I had already been there and done that but I think it's finally dawned on me that that calculator is producing a SHA-256 hash which the Windows Explorer Properties function can't or won't and that it is then up to me to compare the calculator-produced hash with the "signature" on the Foss...

Re: Audacity-win-2.2.2.exe checksum match problem

Thank you. I already tried the calculator but the Download page tells me to use SHA-256 and this calculator doesn't get me any further.

Audacity-win-2.2.2.exe checksum match problem

Windows 10. Downloaded audacity-win-2.2.2.exe from Fosshub today, noted the SHA256 signature, opened up the file Properties-File Hashes in Windows Explorer, and there it only shows CRC-32, MD5 and SHA-1 hash values. No sign of SHA256. Is the SHA256 hash hidden somewhere else in the Windows Explorer ...

Re: Searching the online Manual

The most convenient way to search the Manual for the current release of Audacity (that is, 2.0.5 at the moment) is to bookmark this link: http://tinyurl.com/lytq5hd . Replace "Device Toolbar" in the address bar with what you are searching for. Note that if you go to http://manual.audacityteam.org/m...

Re: How to delete a project ?

Posts made in this topic about searching the online Manual have been split to http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=76726 . Thanks again for the useful lead. I cleaned out my computer and network by searching for *.aup with Windows Explorer and then deleting all the no-longer-needed fi...

Searching the online Manual

What I was looking for (see http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=76703) was in the manual after all. I've now discovered how to do a better search of the manual by using the online version (rather than the downloaded version) and then using the Google search facility there, e.g. lookin...

How to delete a project ?

Using Audacity 2.0.2 under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I'm converting cassette tapes to MP3. When I've finished converting a given tape and transferred the MP3 file to an external HDD I want to remove all the other files which Audacity has created in the course of the project. I've been looking unsuc...

Re: Removing vibrato from old cassette tape recordings

Thanks for this. I see at http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=67615&st=25 that there are approaches to this which exploit a pilot or "clock" tone that FM broadcasts include but the software mentioned is for Winamp and not Audacity. There is also a tool called Capstan (see http://...

Removing vibrato from old cassette tape recordings

Using Audacity 2.0 on Windows 7 Ultimate. Can't remember whether from exe installer or zip. I'm "rescuing" some 20-year old cassette tapes by transferring them to .mp3 format. Audacity has been astoundingly successful in removing the hiss. Some of the recordings are spoiled by a moderate degree of v...
