Yes - I didn't try the one you linked to, but I just tried opening/importing two other MP3's, and both worked just fine. Then I tried one of the problematic MP3's, just to be sure, and Audacity quit, after about 20-30 seconds of the SBOD (Spinning Beachball of Death).

Forgot to mention that those MP3's do open/play correctly in other apps. But before I can edit them in Audacity, I have to convert them to another format.

Also, I just tried to open, with Audacity, an MP3 generated by Audacity. Audacity paused, then quit.

This only seems to affect MP3's. AIFF's and WAV's import fine. I've tried a few MP3's, all with the same result. However, all were recorded by the same digital recorder, a Sony ICD-PX820.
