Re: Mixdown to Existing Track
Perhaps I, too, am missing something but, if you want to enhance each of the separate sections, why not do that as they currently lie and then bring everything together when you achieve the final mix-down as you export to WAV, MP3 or whatever file format you choose? You seem to be suggesting you hav...

Re: For recording audio books
I cannot speak for the Zoom H2n but I have the older Zoom H4 and I wouldn't say that this model eats batteries. Also, the H4 came with a mains adapter. I presume the H2n does, too? Computers were never designed to be open-mic recording devices. They are too noisy - both electronically inside and ele...

Windows Media Player on Win 7 will do the rip for you (DRM permitting of course!). You can choose output to WAV or MP3.

Re: SD card in ZOOM H4 - poor signal level on recording
My thanks to Koz, Steve and Trebor for your responses. I did some Googling for myself and found several references to problems associated with cheap SD cards. Seems like it's the old story: "you gets what you pays for". That's why I'm stocking up with Sandisk cards for my new Nikon D300s camera. I d...

Re: Error while opening sound device
EDIT: My mic stopped working which was preventing me, for some reason, from making Skype video calls . I couldn't work it out, so I did a system restore t oa few days ago and that now works. However, whatever I did to make Audacity not give me an error on Stereo Mix has now been undone... and it's ...

Re: How Do I Uninstall Old version?
That's possibly your only option. Find the audacity.exe and study the folder structure it is in - and then make a conscious decision to delete it CAREFULLY! You may still have some Registry entries left behind. Running a suitable registry cleaner might be enough to get rid of those. Out of curiosity...

Re: Selecting & Deleting very small pieces of audio
If you have the two sound files in Audacity as two separate tracks, you can always use the Timeshift tool to slide them so that the silences overlap - and thus no longer exist - in your final mix-down to whatever file format you decide to use for the export.

Re: Selecting & Deleting very small pieces of audio
Could it have anything to do with Preferences...Tracks..."Enable dragging of left and right selection edges"?
