Re: save folder question
1. File > Export uses the "/Export/Path" preference to set the starting directory, i.e. the value of the "Path" variable under the "[Export]" section of the .cfg file. (see source code in src/export/Export.cpp) 2. File > Export Multiple uses the "/Export/MultiplePath" preference to set the starting...

Re: Manual Duck (fade down and back up again)
Having given this some more thought this morning, there's an "ah, but...!", isn't there? The Manual Duck is "destructive" editing whereas the Envelope Tool is "non-destructive" editing. It is always possible to make a change to the Envelope Tool settings at any time provided the project has been sav...

Re: Manual Duck (fade down and back up again)
Steve, Thanks for this new version. Having downloaded and played with it, the function is all I could wish for, or need. All I have to do now is to decide which shape of fade I prefer and what fade duration I want. I have worked out where and how to edit the code to add my own default values, once I...

Re: Manual Duck (fade down and back up again)
Steve, For once I'm excited by one of your Nyquist offerings! (That is no reflection on any of your previous offerings. It's just that I don't "mess around" with my recordings). However, this kind of processing is what I do all the time with the Envelope tool to balance my voice-over and the backgro...

Re: Change Pitch on 2 different tracks....??
Are you OK'ing the pitch change for the first track before selecting the second track? Or are you trying to set different pitch values on the left and right channels of a stereo track? If so, you need to Split the Stereo track, apply the pitch (twice - once to each channel) and then remake the stere...

Re: Error message
If you did a standard install, it should not have overwritten the 1.3 beta version. You should now have both versions of Audacity installed and available via Start > All programsdaveat22 wrote:I have this morning loaded the 2.0.0 version and it has overwritten the old one so I can not see what it was.

Re: Can I mix on the *Same* track?
That's not the way to do a cross-fade. Apply a gentle fade out to the end of the first track (perhaps 3-7 seconds). Use the Timeshift tool to slide the second track along so that the first few seconds of that overlap with the last few seconds of the first track. Apply a gentle fade in to the start o...

Re: Can I mix on the *Same* track?
Mixing involves at least two sound sources. What are your two sound sources? How are you getting the two sounds into the computer?
