Re: Sound/Silence Finder enhancements
...recordings always begin at silence (not so illogical as (a) mostly they do, and (b) "instantaneous" sound is a physical impossibility)... Please don't take this personally but, isn't that taking a rather narrow view of things? "Recordings" might not have instantaneous sound but use of Audacity i...

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements
@Steve, @Gale, Would there be any advantage, either now or at some point in the (near?) future, in my offering my services as a "beta tester" for these plug-ins? I'm aware of some of the discussions that have taken place between the pair of you, but have not tried to follow all the details. I believ...

Re: Noise Cancellation question-creating an inverted sound w
If you are trying to cancel out the sound by creating the exact inverse, I think you will need to be able to play it back EXACTLY in time and, I suspect, EXACTLY at the same amplitude, otherwise the two sounds will not be a perfect match for each other and will slowly drift out of synch. Whilst crea...

You must be in "Stopped" mode and not just "Paused" in order to perform any Edit operation. Click on the "Stop" button and then try the edits.

Re: Shorten Audio Track
Reducing from 82 minutes to 78 minutes is approximately a 5% reduction. Change Tempo should handle this and give a reasonably good result. I've pushed music all the way to 10% change in duration.

Re: Sound/Silence Finder enhancements
The fact that Silence Finder actually detects and can include sound is not I think a user-facing problem. I've dipped into this topic occasionally and have tried to keep abreast of your collective thinking. I agree entirely with Gale's thinking here. How the code works "under the covers" is not nec...

Re: Lost important recording
Perhaps there is an alternative approach? I don't use "Timer Recording" but from following this, and other, topics on the forum, I get the impression it is intended to be used for "unattended recording". That being the case, and assuming the recording has been set up correctly, doesn't that imply th...

Re: Burned WAV cd will not play in cd player
The only sure way of knowing if all the pieces are going to work together is to try it. That's why they do "full dress rehearsals"!!

Re: Burned WAV cd will not play in cd player
Even the manufacturer of the disc can be the difference between success and failure.
