Koz,
My apologies. That one didn't register when I read through the dialogue.

Re: Cannot get any input to Audacity
Just a word of caution here: some laptops do not have a separate "line in" jack. They have only a "mic in". @Mr_DBJordan, check what input jacks your laptop has before committing yourself to this route.Robert2 wrote:...use a proper cord to plug the cassette deck “line-out” to your PC sound card “line-in”

Re: Creating Batch
No! In my use of Audacity I have no need of chains. As I said, I was merely enquiring out of curiosity. Your answer is good enough to satisfy that curiosity.steve wrote:Did you try it?

Re: Resonant Filter
@Steve, Thanks for the detailed response. I take your point about advanced users of advanced tools having appropriate technical knowledge. The link to the High Pass filter page in the manual was enlightening. However, the manual and the product are out-of-synch. See the two screen grabs below. Audac...

Re: Resonant Filter
One further thought from a novice user: what the hell is "Q"? It means absolutely nothing to me. The user interface should never assume "technical knowledge" on the part of the user. If technical knowledge is required in order to use that "tool", the knowledge should be readily available at the poin...

Re: Resonant Filter
What you possibly forget is that naive users may not think of curves, but are thinking more like a knife cut with nothing above or below (and with no rolloff value here there is nothing quite so obvious to suggest otherwise). Here I go again, coming late to the party! I'll confirm that statement ab...

Re: Sound in all other programs, but suddenly none in Audaci
Nobody seems to have asked the obvious question: is the output volume turned up in the Mixer Toolbar or is it down at zero?

Re: Creating Batch
I'm butting in here with a question just out of curiosity: how would a chain handle the "File already exists, do you want to over-write" dialogue box that would occur when running under Windows and trying to save using a filename that is already present in the destination folder? My understanding (p...

Re: Built in sound recording
...not able to record via the built in sound option... If by "built in sound option" you mean that which on a Windows PC might go by the name of "Stereo Mix" or "What you hear" then, from my understanding gained reading posts on this forum, the Mac does not allow that function. For an accurate answ...
