Re: How to remove older LAME files
First, make a note of which copy Audacity is using as follows: - In Audacity do Edit > Preferences > Libraries - Press Locate... for the LAME library - Press the Home key - Make a note of the drive letter, path and file name that Audacity is actually using Next, from the Vista Start button (bottom l...

Re: I can't get it to record!!!
What are you trying to record: your own voice through the in-built mic (if its a laptop), a USB turntable, streaming sounds off the Internet? Have you checked what recording sources are active in Windows? Right click the Loudspeaker icon in the System Tray by the clock and then left-clcik recording ...

It changed because you used Skype. Skype commandeers the entire sound system, sets it the way that it wants it - and then leaves it ...

Re: Win 8 & Audacity 2.0-All I get is noise
Is it possible that you are up against an issue related to the soundcard drivers? Are your soundcard drivers Win8 compliant?

Re: Win 8 & Audacity 2.0-All I get is noise
The Audacity page on the web (http://audacityteam.org/download/windows) makes no mention of compatibility with Windows 8. Did you check that it was compatible before attempting to use it?

Re: Auto Time Shift – or a better option to merge?
Those au files are the files that Audacity uses internally. You don't need to assemble them manually yourself if you also still have the .aup file that Audacity created when you saved your project. Whatever the folder is that those files are stored under (the folder whose name ends "_data"), there s...
