Re: Automatically adding track silence

If that is to give you the two second silence between tracks on a CD, your CD burning software may (should? will?) have a feature to turn that on or off at burn time.

...if you have a USB turntable, or any USB audio output device, then maybe we can progress on this front... I do not record using the computer. All my recording is done using a Zoom H4 and then that connects as a USB storage device and the files are copied onto my hard disk. Status on the two "tras...

Re: What should normal input levels (dB) be in a quiet room?

...if I'm going to invest any significant amount, it's going to be an interface or recorder APART from a computer (for the recording process anyway) It is my personal opinion that this is the way to go. Re: occasional noise

I was doing the weekly backups (using Vice Versa software) and was getting numerous failures to read the input device and also failures to write the output device. I tried with two...

Re: Muted/Soloed track plays in Audacity but is not in MP3

Gale, Thanks for that reply. However, I still think this leaves Audacity operating in a totally illogical way. I reiterate: the way in which we check whether the mix is to our liking is by listening to it. If, at that point, we are happy with the mix, we export it. Audacity MUST export that which we...

Re: Redline *Lagging* the music?

The only redline I'm aware of is the one that indicates you are getting "clipping". This should not be appearing at all if the recording levels have been set correctly.
