Would there be any player only application which would allow the user to select the position in the wave form they would like to play from? We currently use two players for transcription of meeting recordings. One is more usable than the other, but neither have the capability of selecting a position...

Are there startup options for Audacity which allows it to function as a player only, with edit and record options disabled?

The application would be to give transcribers all the functionality of Audacity as a player, but deny their ability to edit or record over the MP3s they are transcribing.
