Thanks,
it seems that for me it is not good enough to relay on auto saving, but I must always manually backup work in progress. It was literally the last click on the edited podcasts when the audacity crashed ( after a full day of working on it).

Re: Crashed audacity 1.3.12 beta, cant recover the project
The recording which was edited and exported. So I have this recovery version of the file and it is 500 MB in size, but when I open it I see only a flat line (some 55 min of audio). I have tried to export this file in a hope it would somehow work when exported to mp3 format. This file is 55 MB big, b...

Crashed audacity 1.3.12 beta, cant recover the project
Gotta problem with space on hard disk, I guess this is the cause (only 2GB free). Tried to restore but the audacity file project has only a flat line instead of a wave form. The interesting thing is that the recording has some 55mb like it has the file but I cant open it? Anyway, can I save my work ...

Is this supposed to be funny? Well, it's not. It's disappointing. If you can help, help. If not, silence is better than this.kozikowski wrote:wake up from First Birthday set for editing, cutting, and effects.

Re: Can hear noise but no visible change in the waveform
The fault is my laziness. I've never noticed the db Waveform option. Regarding the recording of that audio, it's from a podcast which is recorded with skype, and it is of really low quality.
Thanks a lot guys!

Re: Can hear noise but no visible change in the waveform
It is not like I am complaining and criticizing your hard work which is very much appreciated by me. Its more like I would like to add some help, like, alarming you about some possible bug. I had an impression this is useful.kozikowski wrote:<<<Looks like a bug to me.>>>
Thanks for the explanation. My mistake.

Can hear noise but no visible change in the waveform
I am on windows 7 and yesterday have downloaded audacity 1.3.11-beta (Unicode). So now I am editing a podcast and I notice that I can hear a sound (noise) but there is no change in the waveform. I mean the waveform is straight and without curvature, but the noise is there. Looks like a bug to me. He...

Yes I am talking about the same problem, thus I am on mentioning on the same topic. I have upgraded yesterday to 1.3.10 and the problem is definitely gone.
