Problem with Drag and Drop In Audacity
For some strange reason, I can't load multiple tracks in ONE instance of Audacity like I used to do. Drag and Drop doesn't work and neither does "opening" the file, because it just generates another instance of Audacity and THEN the track(s) in question show up, but only ONE file per instance of Aud...

Re: Good Compression Setting for Pop Song?
Actually, I should have asked that question in regards to Audacity's compressor- what would be suggested settings for Threshold, noise floor, ratio attack and release time?

Good Compression Setting for Pop Song?
I would like to know if any of you have a killer compression setting for a pop song.
I don't want to get into the loudness war, just something to make the song punchy.
Thanks!

Which is why you should always save your material to a favored location on your computer *first*.kozikowski wrote:
Remembering, of course, that Audacity Projects do not save UNDO. Don't do anything that affects original tracks.

Re: Testing Recording Equipment: How should I choose?
Here's something that I did with my Zoom H1, recording off of the speakers of my humble keyboard. The most I did to it in Audacity was to compress with a 2.5 ratio.

Re: Recording from cassette player- only get humming noise
I have a Zoom H1 Handy Recorder that I use to transfer anything I need from Analog to Digital, at least as far as cassette tapes are concerned. The recording quality settings range from the lowest of MP3 all the way up to 24/96. You probably don't want to invest in another piece of gear though, espe...

Re: How to use plug ins
What sort of plug-in is "Ambience"? Do you have a link to where it came from so that I can have a look? Did you follow the instructions in my previous post? If it is a VST effect, did you follow the link in my previous post and follow those instructions? Ambience is a VST reverb. Link here: http://...

OK, restarted Audacity and dropped Ambience (unzipped) into the folder.
Where and how will Ambience show up?

Re: How to use plug ins
I'm trying to get the Ambience VST into Audacity but it won't take. One question that I think I know the answer to, but I want confirmation. Do ALL instances of Audacity need to be closed except for the instance that you're loadng the VST into? I have another Audacity window open with a project that...
