Split stereo amplify
Hello, I'm using Audacity 1.3.13 with Windows XP to record analog records. I'll record a vinyl record, apply labels and save the individual tracks in a folder. Before labeling I delete small sections of a recording, a long pause between tracks for example, by clicking and dragging the mouse over the...

Re: No playback sound while monitoring
Thank you for the link. If I need any add-ons the future, I will go there.
The work I do is rather simple compared to what some folks here do. Therefore, I find if I carefully read the manuals I can usually accomplish what I need to do.
Thanks very much for this most excellent program!

Re: No playback sound while monitoring
Actually, I just found the solution while re-reading the manual.
Go to "Edit" > "Preferences" > "Recording" then tick the "Software Playthrough" box.
I knew it was just a simple setting. Thanks to all who looked in here.

Re: No playback sound while monitoring
I had it wiped out and the OS (Windows XP) re-installed because my machine was becoming sluggish. I download lots of stuff and install lots of programs. I have a very good anti-virus program installed and never had a virus or any malware that I could find but my brother recommended it. He wipes and ...

No playback sound while monitoring
I'm using beta version 1.3. I just had my laptop wiped and reloaded with Windows XP. Everything seems to be working very well. I can "start monitoring" and the record bars show a signal. If I record something, I can play it back and hear it fine. However, when I "start monitoring" I cannot hear the ...

Recording seems to be hanging.
Haven't had any trouble like this until today. Beta version 1.3. I'm recording vinyl discs using a NAD D to A converter, Windows XP. After 8-15 minutes into the recording it stops moving forward and just seems to hang, repeating at the rate of about three times per second. The timer does not move. I...

Okay. I missed that but I'll look around for it next time.
Thank you.
Thank you.

different bit rates when saving Mp3 files
I'm using the 1.3 beta version.
I downloaded the FFmpeg plug in to save my music files as Mp3's. It saved them just fine but at 128 kbs. I was wondering if it's possible to save at a higher (or lower) bit rate. I can not figure out where to do this.
Thank you.

Saving a project, data folder
When I record a vinyl record let's say, I export the tracks to a (main) folder I created for later retrieval. I then "Save Project As" to this same folder, giving the project a name. I see the .wav files in main folder. I also see the project I saved as a separate folder in this main folder as well....

Re: Sufficient volume when recording
Yes, I'm using 1.3.13, great info here. If I'm getting any DC offset it must be very small because it looks good to my eye. Also, I'll use the Amply function and then burn to an inexpensive CDr to listen to the results. If they are good, then I'll use my better grade discs. The more I use this progr...
