Re: Setting the recording input level
Thanks for the link. I went through all of the steps listed and for once I can say the tutorial pretty much matched what my machine was showing me, unlike many other internet fixes I've tried. The input slider is a bit less sensitive. I can now go up to the first mark/10% without overloading the inp...

Setting the recording input level
I replaced my old laptop with a new one; Windows 7, 8 gb RAM, good sized HD etc. I'm recording vinyl using a turntable plugged into a NAD PP 3i A to D converter connected to the computer by a USB cable. Got it working okay, I think, but I noticed when I'm monitoring the input signal I need to move t...

Re: Adding label tracks
I figured it would be something simple.

Adding label tracks
I am recording vinyl with a Rega P3 and a NAD PP3i A to D converter. I'm having trouble adding label tracks precisely where I want them. Example: I wish to add a label track at the 13:30.5 mark, but I can only add it at either 13:30 or 13:31. I can not split those two points in the recording, even i...

Re: Program material crashing program
Thank you.
I couldn't for the life of me determine why it would. Just some unusual coincidences I suppose. I'll check into your suggestions.

Program material crashing program
Now I'm in the correct forum. Audacity 1.3.13, Rega P3 Turntable, NAD PP 3i analog to digital converter. I've recorded about 35 vinyl records so far. Great software program! Is it possible for source material (certain types of "music") to cause this program to hang and/or crash? By hang I mean the s...

Program source material
Is it possible for the source material to affect or crash, Audacity? I'm using 1.3.13, a Rega P3 turntable with a NAD PP3i A to D converter. I've recorded about 35 vinyl albums so far. The program is great. I've been trying to copy a record that is of the Thrash/Metal genre. For whatever reason I ca...

Re: Split stereo amplify
I have been using "normalize" a lot but I will take your advice on that. What I'm doing now is using "split stereo track" function and amplifying each channel to where I want using the gain control sliders. The green bars at the top show when things are in balance. And I'm doing this AFTER I insert ...
