Make Metadata Editor show for each multiple file [SOLVED]
Version 2.0.3 with Windows 7. Although I've searched through the manual, I can't seem to find an answer. This will be an easy answer, I think. In the past I'd record 5 or 6 tunes from an album side and add the metadata at each track (artist, album title, track title, track number). Then I discovered...

Re: System requirements
Very interesting discussion here.
My 64 bit win 7 laptop machine has 4 gb of RAM, my newer desktop has 8 gb.
I keep things at a minimum with msconfig but I understand about the anti-virus, desktop icons and so forth.
Thanks to all for the comments.

System requirements
I use Audacity 2.0.3 and Win 7. I digitize vinyl using good turntables and an NAD PP3i D to A converter. I was wondering what the requirements are to run Audacity. Here's why; In the past I've used laptops by HP and Dell. The Dell isn't too old and runs Win 7, i7 processor, 4 gb RAM. I would have occ...

Re: Exporting WAV files in order
Getting the track in order is a minor issue to be sure.

Exporting WAV files in order
Hello. I'm using Audacity 2.0.3 along with Win 7. I've been reading the manual and saving myself lots of typing by adding tags using the Metadata Editor. When I export WAV files they go into the folder in alphabetical order rather than the order they are recorded. I'm having to add a number in front...

I found the manual helpful
So I've been using 2.0.3 for a while on my WIN 7 laptop and decided to connect it to my desktop. Home built, decent processor speed, WIN 7. Naturally I got no sound when I first tried it even though the settings were the same as the laptop (or so I thought). Long story short; I forgot about checking...

Re: Is this called a crashed file?
It just goes into that mode. I actually cut it short, but I was trying to click around inside Audacity and nothing happened until I closed it. One year old Dell laptop, WIN 7, version 2.0.2. This used to happen on my older HP WIN XP machine. Because I was fed up with HP for many reasons I bought thi...

Is this called a crashed file?
After help with occasional static in my recordings ( http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=68363&p=194492&hilit=occasional+static#p194492 ) that problem went away and I've recorded maybe 10-15 LP's with excellent results. Today I experienced something that hastened my decision to buy a ...

Re: Static while recording, sometimes
Gale, I don't recall changing the "host" or "exclusive mode". I only remember changing the stereo mix in the recording devices to 2 channel 16 bit 44100 HZ in the advanced tab. It is working well and I'm just tweaking it a bit using split stereo and amplifying one channel. I'm sorry I cannot provide...
