Trouble capturing streaming audio
Windows 8, upgraded to 10, Lenovo laptop that's pretty decent, I think, Audacity 2.3.0 At one point I thought I had it. When I capture streaming audio it just doesn't sound as clean as it should. With some settings it sounds horribly canned, other settings it gets a little better but sometimes I hea...

Re: Flutter or chopiness
I did what you suggested. I opened Audacity and set the CPU priority to above normal. In latency I increased buffer length from 100 ms to 150 ms (I guessed at it) I also opened msconfig and disabled a couple of processes I don't use like Microsoft One Drive. Audacity seems to be working perfectly. T...

Re: Flutter or chopiness
Thanks to both of you.
I will try these things and get back here to report one way or another.

Flutter or chopiness
Windows 10, version 2.3.0, decent Dell desktop, NAD pp3i I've been using this setup for years now. Always excellent results. Lately I've noticed what would be called flutter on a cassette deck playback. Trouble is, when I plug headphones in, the sound is perfect, to my ears anyway. The same when I u...

Re: Recording streams
If I can add one more thing; I'm getting pretty good results recording streams from the net. However, a while back I recorded some tracks from an LP and did a true A/B listening test. The recording was absolutely identical to the program to my ears. I could not tell the difference. When I record a s...

Re: Recording streams
I've gotten to where it sounds good, but still no control over record volume. I have to set it at the source, a bit inconvenient.
Is there a fix so I can set it in the Audacity window?
Thank you.

Recording streams
Windows 10 laptop. I've been using Audacity for years to digitize my vinyl albums and see no reason to look at any other program. I love it. I recently installed 2.3.0 on my laptop and I'm experiencing some issues recording streaming audio. I can't get the levels high enough, they seem attenuated, a...

Volume control does not work
Hello, I have a new Dell Desktop factory installed Windows 10, Audacity 2.1.2 and I believe I used the .exe installer. I digitize vinyl records and everything works great except the volume control slider is inoperative. It is not grayed out, it just doesn't do anything. The volume control on the tas...

Re: Track Labels
I did download version 2.1.1. But then I discovered I just hadn't gone far enough. When "Exporting Multiple" to the memory card for use in my car, I found that I have the opportunity at that point to put in the artists' names. You can add metadata in the "Edit Metadata Tags" dialogue, but that meta...

Adding labels without gaps
I'm using Windows 10 with Audacity 2.1.1 to digitize vinyl records and I love it. I looked around the manual but could not find out if I can add labels markers to a continuous audio track without creating audible "gaps" in the sound. I mostly put the files on a stick or portable player to listen to ...
