I downloaded it on my "office" computer, here at home, onto a CD and then loaded the programs onto my "studio" computer. And just FYI, I've tried both the LAME links (from Audacity and the one on the LAME site) for the LAME encoder download.

Under mp3: mp3 library (button which says locate) - press that it asks where lame encoder is, so I tell it, but it doesn't seeem to remember when I go back & try to save; I get "cannot open mp3 library" LAME mp3 library (button that says connect) - press that and it tries to connect to the internet;...

Sorry, but that didn't work. Every time I tell Audacity where the encoder file (lame_enc.dll) is, it's like it ignores it. In other words, the drop-down for bitrate doesn't become avaiable.

Export To mp3 problem - VERY Frustrated

Hi guys! I've been using Audacity for several years,but have run into a problem I can't solve: getting Audacity 1.3.13 (Beta) to acknowledge my LAME encoder so I can save .aup's as mp3's. I have done ALL of the suggested things (uninstall AND clean caches, edited the config files, etc.), but no dice...
