Many thanks, appreciate you taking the time to write that, very informative. My turntable has 2 phono leads left & right to connect to an amp so I presume the analogue sound has passed through the pre amp. I have the standard sound card in my 6 year old pc, I have an adapter to plug the 2 phono ...

So you don't think there is a way of getting the audio input volume to work?

Yes that is correct. I am using Ion TTUSB05. There is no output level control anywhere on this model. There is nothing I can do to change the input volume.
