Re: Recording from two microphones concurrently
I understand about not being able to support ASIO, but does Audacity support CoreAudio?

Re: Recording from two microphones concurrently
I'm currently using a Mac, if that helps. I'd prefer to find a solution that will work on both, however.

Re: Recording from two microphones concurrently
I ended up getting a MOTU Traveler as it provides 4 pre-amps that can be powered via the firewire bus, as well as by battery pack. Still having trouble getting specific inputs assigned to specific tracks. Any advice?

Re: Assigning different inputs to different tracks
I don't need all the inputs. My question is what if I want to use inputs 1, 2, 4 and 7? Or what if I create an aggregate device and want to select from inputs from that?

Assigning different inputs to different tracks
I'm using an external firewire interface (a MOTU Traveler) that has 22 inputs according to the Audio MIDI Setup app. I can assign the device as the input device, and I can tell it I want to record 3 tracks, but how do I assign specific inputs from the device to the tracks? Thanks.

Re: can't record multiple inputs with Helix Board 12 Firewir
Actually, I'd like to find out how to get Audacity to record more than out track from a MOTU firewire interface. You said it worked fine. How do you assign different inputs on the MOTU interface to different tracks in Audacity? Thanks.

Re: Recording from two microphones concurrently
Just out of curiosity, why do you keep mentioning $100?
So back to my original question, I guess the solution is something along the lines of the M-Audio MobilePre USB. Has anyone here used one and can confirm that I can get the two microphone inputs as separate channels in Audacity? Thanks.

Re: Recording from two microphones concurrently
My budget is not the problem. That said, however, I just realized for what I need theoretically I could plug in two sound sources directly to the mac, but let's say I have both audio sources shwoing up in the Sound preference panel - how do I record both sources at the same time? Under preferences I...

Recording from two microphones concurrently
What's the best way to record from two microphones at the same time, so the recordings are time-synced? I assume I can record to two separate channels and split the channels into separate mono audio files later if I want, but what hardware works with Audacity for this purpose? Can I use an M-Audio M...
