Re: I want to start recording on Sat/ 6am and Sun/9am.
Audacity timer fail.JPG Update. Here is a more updateder pic. It shows that the timer reports the first 10 seconds of the recording attempt. Time left reflects the total set time minus the 10 seconds. "Stop" does nothing. Clicking to close the timer window prompts "Are you sure..." but the recorder...

Re: I want to start recording on Sat/ 6am and Sun/9am.
For me, it is failing all the time. I cannot get it to work once. I set it up, it starts, the popup chart does not show progress. After the designated 10 minutes, it does not stop recording. "Stop" asks me if I really want to stop but clicking Yes, does nothing. I have to close the Audacity window a...

Re: I want to start recording on Sat/ 6am and Sun/9am.
Yes, add my vote. However, is the timer fully operational? I ran a test record last night. I set it to start recording at 6am to stop at 7am. It started at 6am and here at 9:30 it is still recording. Record start date is valid, Duration is 1 hour. I woke up at 6:30 and it looked as if it was schedul...

Re: I want to start recording on Sat/ 6am and Sun/9am.
OMG..... After all this struggle to do timed recordings using Windows Task Scheduler, it actually exists in Audacity. Either I missed the discussion or no one mentioned it. On a whim, I did a search for "Audacity Timer". I found a discussion dated 2012 that explained that there is a menu option spec...

"Whilst Audacity can record on a timer,"
Does this suggest that Audacity has this as a feature?
That would be smooth.....

Re: I want to start recording on Sat/ 6am and Sun/9am.
I am looking into the scheduler link.
Any of the apps suggested are themselves all over kill since I already have an online source Juke box designed.
All I need do is schedule Audacity to start recording.

Re: I want to start recording on Sat/ 6am and Sun/9am.
It is not a matter of having the code to start/stop Audacity. I have all of the original files.
I can even set up TS triggers.
Rather, how do I get the Task Scheduler top see/run the files?
Somehow it needs to know the name of the file to use.

I want to start recording on Sat/ 6am and Sun/9am.
I did this 3 years ago using Microsoft Task Scheduler. Someone here showed how to do it
I had it running but somehow I smutched it up about a year ago and cannot seem to get it going again.
I would appreciate it if someone can help me get it going again.

Re: Recording but how do I turn off the speakers?
I believe this has been cured. I purchased an four-contact audio jack/cable (left, right, microphone) that has RCA jacks on the other end and fed one output channel to my amplifier/speakers. The other output is fed directly into the microphone jack. I would include a screen shot of my settings but c...
