Thanks a lot for immediate inputs. The version here is audaicty ( beta ) 1.3.10 OS is Windows xp. Sound card is Realtek. Audio controller--HD audio Audio driver version -- 5.10.0.5423 ( I do not know what this stands for ) There is another sub question in Recording... Is it possible in Audacity that...

I enjoy using audacity 1.3 beta at home, very much. I have a question regarding the Volume Control Slider in front of the mic icon ( RECORD mode ). It is all the time greyed out and is set permanently at extreme right position. How can I activate it?

Please help.
