I have a PC with Windows 7. The Scarlett 2i2 produces skips and gaps when I record to Audacity. I have gone back to using my Zoom H4N to record solo guitar because of this.

OK, it looks like I failed to put the VST Effect into the Audacity "plug-in" folder. But for the life of me, I cannot seem to find this folder anywhere. How do I find the "plug-in folder"? I tried following the instructions in the 'user manual' and I cannot seem to get this VST effect to show up in my Audacity Effects file. It does download to my computer but how do I get it into Audacity?

I have Windows XP.
