It seems to have worked for most of the word stimuli, apart from a couple which didn't seem to change at all and (subjectively) seem a bit quieter than the rest - however that is probably due to the pattern of lexical stress on those words s...

All the relevant literature is vague - most don't even specify the signal to noise ratio or even the software they used to create the stimuli!.
