I don't know if this is what's wrong, but after checking the recording options I activated Microphone Boost and that seemed to fix it. Thanks for leading me in the right direction!

Recording works on one computer but not another
I'm really baffled. I've been recording using Audacity 1.3 Beta on two seperate computers, both with Windows 7 and the same settings. The recording has been fine on both of them until recently.
