Re: Veritable bug in 1.3.9
Oh no, I'm playing around doing an LP transfer. I could just use 1.3.4 like I have, but I wanted to try 3.9 and now that I've found a glitch, I'm sure you'd like to know about it.

Re: Veritable bug in 1.3.9
I still get the problem using 1.3.10. The status bar gets to about 18 seconds (showing about halfway), then the CPU overloads, and I almost can't do anything on the computer at all. Then about 3 minutes later I get the "This program needs to close" dialog. Something else of note is that my computer ...

Re: Veritable bug in 1.3.9
I actually got a Windows "This Program needs to close" message with the notch filter. It created a txt document with some technical information. Would you like me to e-mail you- or somebody else -this document?

Re: New to recording music.
The other common mistake is to try to get as close to maximum recorded volume as possible while you're recording. That's a recipe for problems. Voices and instruments have a very wide range of loudness and the microphone doesn't. Leave room to get loud during the live performance and you can mess w...

1.3.9 Nightmare - no thanks to myself!
I downloaded and installed 1.3.9 on my computer, which already had 1.3.4 installed on it. I installed it in a different directory in order to be able to use 3.4 which I already knew was stable enough for me. There was some confusion with the 3.4 install, so I uninstalled 3.4 and re-installed it, aga...

Re: Nyquist Pluggin Not Showing In Menu List
Uh...do you have multiple instances of AUdacity installed? The reason I ask is, I just yesterday realized that the copy of Audacity I use all the time is installed in a sub-directory of a previous Audacity installation. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why plugins wouldn't show up in Audacit...

Re: New to recording music.
Also, I don't know what kind of signal-noise ratio you have with the Behringer, but I have been using a PreSonus Tube PreAmp and a vocal mic to record books on tape. It isn't perfect, but the results are satisfactory. Of course, you have to have a quiet room. It will pick up everything, like the ref...

Re: hiss
Ditto to the replies above. You can also try using High/Low Pass Filters to get rid of hiss above/below the music bands. For speech, I usually Set the Lowpass to cut off at 4500HZ, and the Highpass Cutoff between 100-160HZ. You can play around with these settings and the Roloff settings to see what ...
