Okay, I figured it out. It isn't under "edit" as it is in the other versions. Preferences is under the "Audacity" drop down, which seems excessive to me. I don't use the mac often, so I wasn't expecting an unnecessarily extra drop down. I guess it was assumed if I'm using Mac I know their quirks. Go...
