Re: Audio Tracks flatlined all of a sudden
You can get Sudden Timeline Silence Syndrome if the system has trouble writing to the cache system. Every time you make an edit, Audacity has to save the whole world for when you need to UNDO. If it has any trouble reaching the drive system at all, that process will get very upset. Are you connected...

Re: Audio Tracks flatlined all of a sudden
Sometimes you can get punctuation marks to do that. Do you have dates in the filename? Today is 2018-03-29, not 3/29/18. Slashmarks can cause troubles. Upper, lower, numbers, -dash- and _underscore_ are the only safe characters for filenames.

Re: RMS Normalize seems to undo everything else
There is a status light in the middle of the MUTE button. Is it on? It starts flashing if you push MUTE.
Describe the setup. Laptop running Win7? One USB cable between the Yeti and the computer? Are you going through a hub or USB splitter?

Re: RMS Normalize seems to undo everything else
Before I post another clip I have to ask: it is?? Ummmm. I'm trying to figure the direction to go with this. See those flat tops and bottoms? Voices don't do that. That's sound damage somewhere. Re: RMS Normalize seems to undo everything else
Did you apply an corrections before you posted that? It's massively distorted. Please create a new short clip according to these instructions. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html Do Not apply any corrections. There are two different mastering techniques and you can get all...

Re: Recording my podcast in Stereo
When listening on headphones one voice plays in the left ear and one in the right. That's normal stereo. Stereo is two independent sound channels. That's what allows you to hear the violins on the left in an orchestra. Mono Mix is what happens when you mix the two together. You still have violins, ...
