Re: Questions From New Narrator
If you're reading for ACX publication, you should find out what they want. https://blog.acx.com/2014/06/26/how-to-succeed-at-audiobook-production-part-1/ http://audible-acx.custhelp.com/ They have specific guidelines about what to read and when. I don't think I've ever heard an audiobook with anythi...

Re: Edit video to the beat of the music
Shirley there must be a way to do this. We can put a man on the moon ..... The short answer is no. I don't know of a rhythm sensor (possibly as a plugin??) but then there's no way to get the marks out of Audacity and into Final Cut. Further, I'm betting the music doesn't stay on beat anyway. Can you...

Re: Adjusting volume of recorded content?
What he said.
If you publish with ACX, they have some stiff requirements for sound quality. If you're doing it as a free-wheeling podcast, then close is usually pretty good.
Let us know.

Re: AUDACITY TURNED MY 1.62GB TRACK INTO 1.1MB CLIPS
Audacity does that so you can save all your timelines, structure and edit formats in super high quality format—minus the UNDO. Search the computer for your AUP file. It's supposed to be in the same place as the _DATA folder (but not inside it). See my illustration. That was an actual short show. If ...

Re: AUDACITY TURNED MY 1.62GB TRACK INTO 1.1MB CLIPS
Audacity doesn't Save sound files. It saves Projects. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg Double click the AUP project manager and it will put all those snippets back into your show. To get a stand-alone sound file you have to File > Export one. If you moved or renamed any...

Re: Can a USB Audio Codec be installed on a Mac ?
I think you're working too hard. Plug the UCA-202 into your machine and let it settle for a bit. Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Audio > Input. Somewhere in that list it should say USB Audio CODEC . If you send sound into the UCA-202, the Mac bouncing light sound meter should bounce. (Clic...

Re: Cannot export ANYTHING except MIDI
That's most unusual. How do you have Audacity installed? Is it on a Cloud Drive, a Network Connected Drive or other non-internal drive? The Mac people get this when they try to run Audacity from the installer software package and not the actual installed program . Audacity in that case will have no ...

Re: Spinning wheel often in OSX when zooming in and out
Isn't there still a thing about leaving your Mac awake and on wall power through 3am, 4am, and 5am to make it go through its drive optimization and file management? Only works on spinning metal. There's also a thing about a log file you can compress and save and speed up the system that way. That on...

Re: Spinning wheel often in OSX when zooming in and out
There is a setting in Activity Monitor which shows you the disk activity as a graph. Watch that while you zoom and get the SBBOD. At work one of the people in Systems had a very similar laptop to mine except his had spinning metal. I had the SSD. This is the same machine doing the voice capture work...
