Re: "Audacity failed to read file on drive c:"
typical windows protocol for the last 25+ years is drive D: is your cd/dvd/blu ray device. Except on my machines where C:\ and D:\ are two hard drives and E:\ is the optical drive. I don't think we're any closer to finding out what happened to your work. The errors don't fall into any common patter...

Re: Can’t change split track to mono
While you're messing with that, take a clean version of the song (you kept a clean safety copy, right?) and Effect > Vocal Remover . Vocal Remover does all those splitting and flipping jobs for you. You can also try Effect > Vocal Reduction and Isolation . That's more sophisticated and likely to giv...

Re: Keeping bass while also maintaining volume?
Logitech headset Headset? So it's a USB headset with stereo ear muffs and a microphone? bluetooth headphones (Sony) I think you have headphone distortion. Bluetooth or USB headphones are happy to get reasonable quality sound at normal volume. Nobody is expecting them to blow-dry your hair. Do you h...

Re: "Audacity failed to read file on drive c:"
Next step I'm going to try is to copy/paste the effected project files onto a new project and see if that is a work around. The project name is burned into the AUP file. So if you do that, you may need to create a fresh project in a folder so the two Projects don't interfere with each other—and use...

Re: "Audacity failed to read file on drive c:"
This is where you start being obsessive about what you write. File is on drive C: (Desktop), Drive c: (Documents/Audacity) and Drive E: That's impossible. An Audacity project manager (AUP) and the work files (_DATA) of the same name have to be in the same place or folder and on the same drive. http:...

Unless, of course, your amplifier goes up to 11.

Audacity 2.2.1 can create a damaged project if you already had a Project and you wrote over it with Save As: instead of Save:.
That's why Audacity 2.2.2 was posted.

Re: Keeping bass while also maintaining volume?
So does this mean no matter what a bass boosted song will sound quieter than the original song? The way you want to do it, with the bass track stiff and firm in your headphones, yes. Amplify and Normalize do the same thing. They are an overall volume change, once per song. Normalize got the cool na...

Re: Keeping bass while also maintaining volume?
I'm not trying to make songs louder Yes you are. Everything has to fit in one digital basket and bass notes take up a lot of room. The only way to get everything to fit is reduce the volume of everything. I'm a little lost about the goal. It is possible to get a good balance of pounding bass and ba...
