Re: Questions From New Narrator

Honor Blackman from the James Bond movie "Goldfinger" did the narration for "The Story of Pan Am."

You have similar vocal tones and with a little acting, you, too, could narrate documentaries.

Re: Voice Recording Automatically Fades In

This is one of the versions of "Why do my recordings fade or sound like they were made in a tunnel." Make sure none of the Windows conferencing services are trying to "help you." http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#enhancements Do you use Skype o...

Re: Input volume / waveform screen shots / breakup + crackin

Audacity tends to believe the Mac when it says the device has no volume controls. So you have to do it at the Roland. When the music cracks and pops, what does the timeline look like? Overload distortion looks like blue sound waves that go too far up and down. You can View > Show Clipping and the ti...

Re: Input volume / waveform screen shots / breakup + crackin

How do I get a screen shot of a recorded waveform
Shift-Command-3 will take a picture of the whole screen and put it on your desktop. Shift-Command-4 will give you a cursor so you can draw a box around the point of interest.

Re: Having latency issues (and no other guide works..)

Are you confusing Machine Latency with Record Latency? Machine Latency is the reason you can't plug your headphones into the computer to do overdubbing. The headphone feed will always have "one computer" worth of delay as a sum of the digitizing and processing errors. That's why in overdub...

Re: Skip selection on playback for precise editing

Those are called Edit Marks (Set-In and Set-Out) and Audacity doesn't have them. If you edit video, coming to Audacity is something of a shock. We do have Sticky Labels and you can do some of those jobs with those. You can also make good use of UNDO to test your edit. http://manual.audacityteam.org/...

Re: Recording Multiple Stereo Channels?

Still, for recording multiple synths etc, it would be good to have stereo multi in Audacity? You can do it right now with one of the multi-channel devices known to work with Audacity. Once the multiple channels are recorded, it's a snap to group speed change them all and then split them off for ste...

Re: Recording Multiple Stereo Channels?

One reason there is no multi-stereo is Audacity doesn't support more than one sound device. transferring multiple tapes at high speed High speed transfer is not recommended. Tape machines assign the wrong equalization and velocity compensation when you play a tape at the wrong speed. OK if you wante...

Re: Recording Multiple Stereo Channels?

You can record Mono, Stereo or Multi-Channel. I don't think there is a multi-stereo.
